I wanted more! I hadn't noticed how short the book was when I purchased it, and it was only as I was reading that I realised how short it was. The brevity didn't impact on my enjoyment of the four stories however - they were well written, and one could almost imagine full length books from each of the four stories. I was just disappointed that it was so short. (my own fault for not realising this when I purchased it)
I'm sad that it wasn't longer. Another six (!) stories would have made this an exceptional collection of dark tales.
I loved the story featuring Death, but my favourite was the one with the well - dark, creepy, spine chilling. Mind you, I also enjoyed the music festival story - that one definitely needs expanding into a full length horror novel. They all do! Please make this happen ;)

Death Comes Calling A Collection of Dark Tales eBook FB Hogan Reviews

This is a great book for Halloween, Halloween parties or anytime you just feel like being scared out of your wits. I would have liked more as this author clearly knows how to write horror. The stories were very descriptive, well written, even poetic but chilling as horror should be.
Wonderful read for Halloween time. I especially liked You Won't Feel A Thing. Very good, easy to read. Dark tales for a dark time of year.
amazing collection yet again. I had to buy this one after reading her other collection, nightmare. amazing work!
A well written collection of short stories. I read this late at night with the lights down low. One of my cats made a noise while I was reading and I jumped a bit. That's how this book will affect you. The tales are compelling page turners that make you want to know what's going to happen next. Looking forward to more creepy stories by this author.
Death comes calling is a collection of eerie, chilling short stories with a Gothic feel to them. I was fully entertained and enjoyed the story lines as well as the writing style. I happen to have a soft spot for horror so it isn't a surprise that I found these stories captivating. The only negative thought I have is that the book is too short. I would have liked another 3 or 4 tales added, but that is as much a compliment as a criticism.
Four eerie tales of the supernatural written with a masterful hand. I loved all the intricate details and vivid descriptions that painted a clear picture of the characters and settings. They sucked me in and captivated my imagination. I felt as though I were right there witnessing each scene in person.

Although the stories are similar in that each one depicts bad things happening to seemingly good people, my favorite was “Our Friends Electric.” This sweet, poignant tale of innocence lost, really touched my heart.

My only complaint with this book is that it ended way too soon.
In keeping with my self published author theme, I have picked out a collection of short stories. As you know
short stories are my favorite, especially the one's I can finish during a half hour lunch break. This collection of short tales fits the bill. They are ripe for Halloween. Start here to get into the mood of the season.

Death Comes Calling is a collection of creepy tales just right for the Halloween season. My favorite was the first tale in the collection, Death Comes Calling. I expected a whole other story. This story's ending was a chilling surprise.

If you like romance, there's a little between the pages. Just don't expect the cozy, happy ending. After all, it is titled Death Comes Calling. )
