There are so many people in this world, myself included, who continually question what their purpose in life is. For so long, I just assumed that mine was to follow the path that my parents set out for me. This didn't lead to happiness, but to further questioning and searching. Author Carl Mathis has written an excellent book on an entirely different way to view success in this life and the idea of purpose in a spiritual light. There are some great Biblical references throughout that refer to stories and scripture supporting the author's reasoning of examining and following your purpose in life, hence your decisions, so that they fulfill God's own revelation for you. Very well written and insightful.

very good book, very informative
Great book to expand your spiritual journey
Just couldnt get into it
Great book. Simple and to the point. Good illustrations Many ways in Helping deal with fear and letting your past go.
It is a great help for me to understand certain things that I cannot fully accept as it is. It is easy to relate to the case that is challenged in life. I think that it is nice to share one's illumination in any possible way. I strongly recommend it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love how the author touched on various area that we all go through in life. I feel that anyone who reads and applies this message will begin to see a transformation in all areas of their life.
I personally want to thank Carl Mathis for writing "Pursuing Your Purpose", it was very rewarding and excellent responsive on finding my own purpose. There are so many individuals included myself, who frequently inquiry what their aspiration in life are. For some individuals, they believe that they should follow the path that their parents set out for them. Then you have some individuals that allow others to dictate what path they should follow. We all need to make our own decisions and decide what path that we must follow rather it's personal, professional and definitely our faith. So m,any people tried to dictate what purpose they desire for me but I shut them down really quick and show them that I make my own decisions that need to make for following the right direction to success in personal, profession and Christian life. The only two persons that I will impress are myself and definitely my heavenly Father God. God anointed this writings by Carl Mathis in every respect divergent approach to picture success in life and the impression of purpose in a metaphysical cloudless
Pursuing your Purpose is an inspirational, motivational read. Carl Mathis has 5 chapters that speak on appreciating life, evaluating your purpose, controlling your purpose, examining your purpose and mastering your purpose. He adds examples, parables, and metaphors or analogies to get the gist of your purpose in simple terms. Sometimes we have to have a visual picture before we can see it happen in our very lives.

He further elaborates on not storing your gifts/talents/abilities since many of us sleep on our dreams and unable to focus to make it a reality. This also reminds me of a similar phrase shared in a movie entitled “Jackson’s Run” that speaks on the “dash” and how are we spending our life in-between birth and death. Moreover, we have to make our lives count! He expounds that we should be engaged or surrounded with like-minded people that have different strengths in which will help us in our weaknesses.

In the first chapter, he gives parables from the Bible and shares about taking valuable advice from others. In the second chapter, it is about letting go of the past and moving forward, including when to stop things that are not working and not holding onto burdens that weighs you down. In the third chapter, people can agree to disagree by doing this constructively and still committed to working together. Moreover, we are to search for our real value. In chapter four, he shares about the “spirit of fear” from what the Bible tells us and how many of us continuously fear something that defeats our purpose. It can be from our thoughts and words that causes us to feel like failures, no-bodies, and will not pursue what we were called to do. It ultimately restricts movement where we stop all pursuits to our divine purpose or calling. So we are to leave the unknown behind by acknowledging the change in you by seeking more knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. In chapter five, he covers how to master growth and development by renewing our minds. He also challenges us to stand and pursue our purpose without stopping.

I would recommend this read for those who need encouragement, motivation, and to pursue their purpose.
