This is an excellent little book. The intent was to create a resource that a woman could carry in her bag and pull out when she had a few random moments, and this book fulfills that goal. This is also an excellent option to keep handy on the nightstand or coffee table for easy access. It is a unique and practical devotional.Teresa Tomeo has a friendly writing style. The remarkable thing about this devotional is that it manages to be compact and written in a relaxed tone, while addressing profound and relatable topics. It is amazing how much grounding and refocusing on important spiritual topics can be accomplished in a few enjoyable pages. It is almost as if you are reading a letter from a completely understanding and wise friend.
The topics are extremely relevant, and in addition to the spiritual devotion, there are practical actions and solutions offered. For example, one of the topics is body image. Each section begins with a short piece of scripture. This devotional is designed to be used wherever a woman finds herself a little pocket of time and the desire for a nugget of peace, truth, and a sense that she has camaraderie. This has an excellent table of contents that makes it fun to pick a topic that feels appropriate for the moment.

Love how each passage is short enough to be added into any busy day but still deep/meaningful enough to be worthwhile.
Something I can relate to, then a meditation after each story. Enjoying it.. Something to bring with you in case you have a few moments with nothing to do like waiting.

I LOVE this little book. The author speaks of challenges in her life that always seems to mirror my own, whether it be about family, career, or life; and she is able to bring great comfort to me by bringing me closer to God though the lessons she has learned in her Catholic practice. I look forward to reading a new chapter each and every day. The chapters are short, and just the perfect amount of words to read at anytime during my hectic and busy life.
This book is amazing! I read the first devotion on my (because I also purchased the book) and the second and third in the printed book. Each begins with a short quote from the Bible and ends with a prayer related to the story in the middle. Perfect for me because there are no dates & you can also look for devotions according to need or topic.
I LOVE THIS BOOK! I have a short attention span, and this book is perfect. ) Each devotion (2 pages?) starts with a Bible verse, then has Teresa's little devotional/personal story, followed by a "homemade" prayer written by the author.
As a volunteer, I had the privilege of being "assigned" to Teresa Tomeo when she spoke in Duluth at our Women's Conference in February of 2018. This book immediately caught my eye and it is fantastic. The devotions are exactly like talking to Ms. Tomeo herself because writes just like she speaks. They are helpful, engaging, funny, poignant, encouraging, and much more. The book is not huge--5.5" x 6.5" x .5" (approximately), 210 pages, so it will easily slip into a tote bag or purse (or the glove compartment--but don't leave it there because you'll want to read it daily!).
Though I first got this book at the conference, I purchased another on for a friend. Yes, it's that good!!
All too often, as women, we get caught up in the minutia of daily life and forget to spend some time with God, reflecting and praying. Tomeo wants to change that and has done an amazing job of making that possible with this little book.
It's full of short reflections on all aspects of our lives, no matter what kind of life you lead.
Each reflection begins with a Bible verse and ends with a short prayer. The book's size is small enough to be carried in your purse and read daily, which I love. In fact my copy is in my purse right now.
I also loved that the reflections will work for women in any denomination. While Tomeo is Catholic and makes no bones about it, there's little in this book that will keep Evangelicals for saying "Amen to that!"
I found the reflections to be insightful and very helpful. Tomeo wants us as Christians to be in the world but not of it. She sees things as simple as wearing make-up or dressing nicely as wayswe can be effective witnesses to our faith. We need to hear that.
I loved her message and the way that she makes no bones about our need to know and understand our faith and that we need to work to live it more fully. I love that she's given us ideas, inspiration and prayful pauses to help us on our way.
