I just couldn’t. Juvenile, uninteresting... if a book doesn’t hook me in the first few chapters, pass. Life’s too short to read a crap book. Summation in the first few chapters financially challenged, drop dead gorgeous (Barbie), anti-social high school girl, likes bad boy. High school Bad boy is quietly obsessed with said girl (and I mean obsessed in a really annoying way). Bad boy’s father is a sex trafficker but all boy cares about is getting inheritance. Anti-social girl has unnecessarily slutty cousin... because why not?.....DUMB.
When you read something so powerful, so much so it messes with your mind and makes you sit back and try to form coherent words but struggle, that’s the exact moment you want more. That addiction, the Want and the Need for more.

Distorted Love is the latest book by T.L. Smith and I would have to say one that screwed with me the most, but in the best possible way. I love the emotion that a book brings you, the sit back and make you think moments, the what the hell did I just read let me read it again and those moments where you want to go back and read it again all for the first time.

T.L. Smith is the Queen of Dark & Twisted, the sort that even the most twisted characters find a little bit screwed up. Her Characters are not your everyday sort of characters, their stories are the kind that will have you on the edge of your seat, whilst your heart is in your mouth. Saskia and Ryken’s Story is no different, these 2 characters will leave you a total mess, you will experience episodes of love & hate, good & evil and the sub characters who grow on you throughout it. What I felt at the start of the book was definitely NOT what I felt at the end. A big element of that was Ryken.

Role on April, that ending is going to slay me until I can read Sinister Love. Congrats T.L once again that little Dark part of your brilliant brain won me over, so much so that I always think I how do you top the next one, and I’m always amazed that you do.

Distorted Love is a must read from me, it was compelling, severely addictive and left me craving Sinister Love the second instalment of This Dark Intentions Duet.
There's too much happening here in too short of time. The characters are mercurial and have no clear motivations for either their emotions or behaviors. It's one long lead up to the second book, but I have so little invested in the characters or their conflicts that I'm not driven to buy the second part of the story. Very weak story planning.
5 SHATTERED HEART STARS!! My heart is shattered! I am trying to put it back together again, but still struggling to find the pieces. OMG, what has this author done to us readers with this phenomenal book. I have never read a story like this before she has written a masterpiece. This dark twisted love story will take you on one emotional rollercoaster ride you never want to end. T.L. Smith is the master of dark love stories, her words are like gold and turns it to a 5 star read. I am sorry, my review can not do this story justice, so JUST READ IT!! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Distorted Love is the first book I have read by T.L. and I am wondering why haven't I found her books sooner. This book is astonishing! I am lost for words. I need Sinister Love book two ASAP.

Ryken and Saskia are like Romeo and Juliet. A love that is so lethal that it slowly kills everyone/everything around them. They are like a ticking time bomb yet there's a magnetic pull between them. Ryken is to follow his father's footsteps. Saskia is a poor girl on the other side of the tracks. People put their own happiness aside to make others happy. Things are about to down so hold on tight.

You HAVE to read Distorted Love!
Have you ever been shopping for an important event with only an hour before the shops close to chose an outfit? Well, that's the feeling I got when I read this nail-biting darkest of dark first instalment of TL Smith's Dark Intentions Duet.
It's the pace of this book that destroyed me, despite being sickly satisfying.
It's a dizzying, sharp, anxiety filled race of passion, lust, angst, heart tearing pain and loathing, that will have you wincing and breathless as you turn the pages.

TL wastes little time in getting to the point of this book, evil and innocent do not good bed fellows make. I have used this analogy before, but it runs true here, Saskia and Ryken are like magnets, so intensely drawn to one another, yet their circumstances cause their polarity to be oppositely placed making them destined to repel one another.

Make no mistake, Ryken's world is pure evil, human trafficking is a prickly topic for an author to place a hero in the centre of, and Ms Smith does a beautiful job of showing us his internal struggle with the life he has to lead and the one he wants. And oh how he wants Saskia! You can feel it through the pages, and it is a returned passion that these two struggle to keep contained.

But as with all great passion it boils over in the most destructive way, and the ensuing cliff hanger left me agonisingly bereft, paving the way for a finale that will no doubt leave me as gutted and wounded but eventually restored as I have come to expect from this author.

She maintains her mantle as the Queen of Darkness with Distorted Love, and I can't wait for the painful conclusion.
